GRAPPLING ARTS

If you want to develop your ground fighting skills and feel confident defending yourself against an opponent who is a skilled ground fighter, then our Grappling Arts program is for you.

KMS Grappling Arts draws on techniques from Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling, Submission Grappling, and Krav Maga to create a well-rounded ground fighting program.  Training in these classes will develop your self-defense skills in takedowns, throws, submissions, and everything in between.

KMS Grappling Arts is divided into two distinct yet complementary classes, both of which are taught using the Krav Maga principles:

THROWS & SUBS: This class covers Judo throws and submissions while also incorporating techniques from no-gi Jiu Jitsu.  Test your skills in Open Mat sparring drills during the latter part of class.

TAKEDOWNS: This Wrestling-focused class covers basic takedown setups, takedowns, and takedown defenses.

Our instructors will start by pairing you with a partner who is at your skill level until you’re ready to proceed to more advanced levels of training in these full-contact, always-fun classes.

REQUIRED GEAR

  • KMS t-shirt or rash guard
  • Shorts, leggings, spats, or other bottoms that are not loose-fitting. No pockets or loose-fitting clothing.
  • Athletic cup is optional.
