As a yoga practitioner, instructor, and Naturopathic Doctor, Kellie is a great believer in the benefits of yoga – not only for maintaining and achieving health, but also for preventing and healing physical, mental, and emotional ailments. She has experience in diverse styles of yoga, ranging from vigorous vinyasa flows aimed at promoting cardiovascular fitness and strength, to yin sequences focused on bone and ligament health as well as restorative poses targeting specific conditions. Her classes at KMS are designed to increase flexibility, prevent injury, and promote balance.
Off the mat, Kellie is a naturopathic physician at Fern Valley Natural Health in Bellevue, focusing on chronic disease management. She is inspired by the profound shifts in health that can result from providing the body with what it needs to achieve balance, and by removing or minimizing obstacles towards that goal. She enjoys incorporating yoga into her medicine as well as including pertinent information from her medical education into her yoga classes.
Kellie lived her teenage years in Brazil and has since spent time working and studying in Latin America. Kellie’s husband is from England and together they are raising four children – two sons who were born at home in Texas, and two daughters adopted from Brazil. Despite (or perhaps because of?) their diverse origins, everyone in the family loves living in the Pacific Northwest. Having been here for over seven years now, it’s the longest that Kellie has ever lived in one place, and she is happy to call it home.
