Robin came to KMS in the summer of 2015 hoping to learn self-defense as a fun, engaging way to get into shape. Robin came to the gym with a long history of failed attempts to succeed in anything athletic and absolutely no experience with anything like Krav Maga. She had never thrown a punch before her first class!
The philosophy that Krav Maga is a system of self-defense that is accessible to anyone was very attractive to Robin. After she experienced that practicality in her very first class, she was instantly hooked, gravitating to the practical, principle-based system.
About a year after joining KMS, Robin took the Intro to Kettlebell program. She loved these classes, once again appreciating the philosophy of universal accessibility, focus on safety, precision of movements, and the killer workout they offer. Kettlebells became another fun and challenging way to improve her fitness at her own pace. After months of dedication and hard work, Robin became certified as a StrongFirst Kettlebell instructor (SFG I) in September, 2017. She is excited to share this dynamic system with students to help them increase overall strength, mobility, and learn skills they can use for a lifetime of fitness and health.
Since joining KMS, Robin’s training has helped her to evolve into a more confident, empowered, and hopeful version of herself. Robin proves the doctrine that both Krav Maga and Kettlebells are practices that do not require prior experience or the gift of natural athleticism. If you work hard and stay focused on your goals, you will see results and grow in ways you never could have imagined.
Having benefited from her time at KMS in so many ways, Robin is excited to be part of the KMS instructor team. She takes her position to help other students on their personal and fitness journeys seriously, and with a healthy dose of fun.
When Robin is not at KMS, she is often hanging out with her cat, running, or out in the Pacific Northwest forests, hiking or backpacking. She also has the pleasure of serving our country’s service members, working at the Veteran’s Hospital as an audiologist.
