Jae has spent over 10 years studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and its application in Mixed Martial Arts and individual self-development. Jae grew up in the Tristate area where he is privileged to have practiced under many great figures in the sport of modern Jiu Jitsu, including: Master Renzo Gracie, Professors John Danaher, Shawn Williams, Carl Massaro, David Branch, Daisuke Yamaji and more. In 2015, Jae received his Brown Belt in Renzo Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from Professor Carl Massaro, a 3rd degree black belt directly under Renzo Gracie.
In his role at KMS, Jae leads the KMS Jiu Jitsu program, drawing in every student with his calm, analytical, and engaging teaching style. He has also lent his expertise in collaboration with Chau, Chuck, and Zack to help improve the existing Krav Maga ground fighting curriculum.
When he’s not rolling on the mats, you can find Jae at a local cafe enjoying a cup of coffee, playing with the neighborhood dogs, or reading a book from the Seattle Public Library.
